2. Academic Prerequisites

| Minimum 55 % marks in FA/FSc and equivalent. |
| Candidates who secure 60% mks or above in BA/ BSc/ BA/ BSc-(Hons) and BBA/ BPA, with 50% mks in FA/ FSc are eligible for Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course. |
| Marks – FA/ FSc/ Equivalent. 55% marks for the candidates from specified areas with domicile. Areas including Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, District Neelum Azad Jammu Kashmir, District Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Tehsil BalaKot (Kaghan, Naran) of District Mansehra in KPK, Tharparker and Tehsil UmerKot in Sind, District Rajanpur, Area of Cholistan Desert, Drawer Fort, Salamsar, Mojgarh and Dingarh of Punjab. Besides being domicile holders, the candidates must have been actually studying in the same areas. |

| Hope Certificate. Candidates who have been promoted in FSC Part-1 and Advance Subsidiary exam 2021 can also apply for the “Hope Certificate of 55% Marks” duly issued by the Head of the Institution. FSC, A level and equivalent final result card /mark sheet must be submitted within one week of the announcement of Board results, otherwise, candidates will not be considered in final merit and those candidates who obtain less than 55 % marks in FSC and less than grade A-C in Advance Level will be declared ineligible for a subject course. |
| Verification of Marks Sheet/ Certificate. Candidates not issued with certificates or in possession of duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric/ Intermediate/ BA/ BSc must get a Verification Certificate signed by the Secretary/ Controller Examination of the concerned Board/University. |
| ‘A’ level candidates applying in Pakistan with an aggregate of 55% marks are eligible without seeking an equivalence certificate as calculated by IBCC. However, all the candidates who have passed ‘A’ level and equivalent examination from abroad or have passed from Pakistan with the result of fewer than three Cs are required to submit an equivalence certificate issued by Inter Board of Chairman Committee (IBCC). |

However, Pakistan Air Force candidates who become medically unfit for flying but fit for ground branches can undergo routine Medical examinations as normal candidates if they are desirous to join other arms. |
| Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot be requested). |
| Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college/ institution on disciplinary grounds. |

| Note: ISSB Selection system assesses natural officer potential. Coaching on ISSB tests adversely affects the chances of selection and results in many contradictions in personality traits. In case it is found that any candidate trained in any private coaching centre will be considered as ineligible to apply for all types of commissions. |
Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure for PMA Jobs 2022
Candidates can register either through the Internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs). The following procedure will be adopted:-
- Registration through the Internet. A candidate can register on the website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. The date and time of the test shall be intimated on the internet for which the individual should have an e-mail account. Candidates will report on the exact date and time given for the preliminary test on a computerized roll no slip. The date once given will not be changed. Candidates MUST attain working knowledge of computers as registration and tests will be conducted on computers.
- Registration at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres. Candidates may report at the nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centres for registration/ allotment of roll number along with necessary documents (mentioned in the advertisement) and the prospectus fee for completion of registration formalities. Candidates will bring these on the day of the test as well.
- Schedule of Preliminary Selection
- Registration. 4 Oct 2021 – 6 Nov 2021 (including Sat and Sun)
- Preliminary Tests. 11 Nov 2021 – 11 Jan 2022 (Except Sat, Sun and closed Holidays)
Note: The TCC Candidates who apply for the PMA Long Course and have undergone ISSB irrespective of outcome will also be considered as Repeater Candidates.
- Repeater candidates must report to concerned Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs) from 6 – 15 Nov 2021 for a preliminary test.
- Preliminary Selection. Module-based selection for Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB) will be carried out, for which a module is being developed at Personnel Administration Directorate. The following will be included in the initial test with weights assigned in the module:-
- Written/ Intelligence
- Medical Examination
- Physical Test
- Interview by preliminary selection board headed by Selection and recruitment Officer (S&RO)
- Written/Intelligence Tests.Written/Intelligence tests will be based on multiple-choice questions from English, Maths, Pak Studies, Islamiat and General Knowledge. The candidates declared successful in written/intelligence tests will undergo physical/ medical tests and interviews at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).
- Physical Tests. The following criteria have been set for all candidates:-
- 1.6 Km Run – 8 minutes (3 Marks)
- Pull-Ups – 3 repetitions in 2 minutes (2 Marks)
- Push-Ups – 15 repetitions in 2 minutes (2 Marks)
- Crunches – 20 repetitions in 2 minutes (2 Marks)
- Ditch Crossing – 7.4 feet (1 Mark)
- Passing all events as per the above table is mandatory for each candidate. A candidate failing in any 1 x event will be considered a Physical Test (PT) failure and will not be given Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form.
- Interview. Candidates clearing written, Medical & Physical tests will be finally interviewed. Each candidate will be given marks out of 20. The following guidelines are given for the conduct of the interview:-
- Expression and confidence.
- Adequate Knowledge of current affairs.
- Adequate knowledge about Geo and Pak Studies.
- Overall outlook.
- Extracurricular activities include sports and hobbies.
- Any other aspect as deemed appropriate by the Panel.
- Recording of interviews of every candidate through CCTV be ensured by all AS&RCs and same be shared with PA Dte. on CDs on weekly basis.
Further Selection Procedure for PMA Jobs 2022
Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs) will fill in all required entries (Physical Test & Interview marks) in the module. Further nomination of candidates for the Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB) will be done by Personal Administration Directorate through merit. Detailed medical examination of Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB) recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby Combined Military Hospitals. The final selection will be made at General Headquarters on the basis of the candidate’s performance.
Documents Required at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres
Original certificate/ detailed Marks Sheet of Matric/FA/FSc/Equivalent.
- Computerized National Identity Card for 18 years and above or Computerized Form “B” along with Guardian’s computerized National Identity Card (Father or Mother) for less than 18 years of age.
- One set of attested photocopies of the above-mentioned documents.
- 3 x Passport size coloured photos duly attested (front and back) by Principal/ Class-1 Gazetted Officer.
- Original as well as one photocopy of the “NOT RECOMMENDED” letter by Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB) is also required for “Repeater Candidates”
- Note: Old National Identity Card will not be accepted.
Pakistan Nationals Residing Abroad
Eligible candidates residing abroad are exempted from Preliminary Selection. However, Defence Attaches will ascertain their overall suitability, physical deformity and stammering aspects. The candidates are advised to approach Pakistani Embassies (Military/Defence Attaches) in the country where residing for the issuance of Application Forms. They will submit their Application Forms along with connected documents through Pakistani Embassies by 20 Jan 2022. A postal order of Rs. 100/- and a Bank Draft of Rs. 500/- in the name of Director General Personnel Administration, Personnel Administration Directorate, General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi will be attached with the Application Form. Postal address in Pakistan should also be indicated in the Application Forms so that call up notice for Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) Tests/ Interviews and further correspondence to eligible candidates can be made at the given Pakistani address. No travelling allowance will be admissible for travelling to and from Pakistan.
NOTE: If selected candidates for current entry are more than the required induction, the leftover candidates would be considered for the next Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course entry subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions/ merit.

Marital Status: Unmarried (married serving personnel of the Armed Forces over 20 years of age are eligible).
Qualification: Intermediate or Equivalent/ Graduate 2 years/ Graduate 4 years
Physical Standards: Minimum Height = 5′ – 4″ (162.5 cm) & Weight = – As per Body Mass Index
Nationality: Citizens of Pakistan and domicile holders of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan. Upon final selection, candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender nationalities other than Pakistani.
