Like other Uniform Personnel, Civilians also play an important role in PAF. Uniform and Civilian persons are working side by side to maintain and enhance the name of the Pakistan Air Force.
There are two categories of civilians in the PAF. Those working in Air Head Quarters are called Higher Formation Civilians (HFC) and others in Units are called Lower Formation Civilians (LFC).

Pakistan Air Force Civilian Induction Conditions:
- There must be a vacant post available.
- Age: The age of a candidate must not be less than 18 years during the time of enrolment. Generally, the maximum age limit is 25 years for most of the trades except Technical and Driving / Class-IV Staff. Technical and Driving / Class-IV Staff age limit is 28 years and 30 years respectively.
- Education: Candidates must fulfil the minimum academic or professional qualifications.
- A civilian in PAF must be medically fit except disabled persons for which a 2% quota has been reserved.
- The regional or provincial quota is fixed by the Govt.
- All candidates must be Security-wise cleared through relevant agencies.

These courses are sponsored by universities and by the Pakistan Air Force on its own arrangement. PAF Officers also get the opportunity to visit abroad on deputation periods and foreign courses.
Self Education
